Three Peaks Recreation Area sits just north of St. George, popular with OHV riders but open to free dispersed camping too, a convenient option if you're passing through southwest Utah and want a no-cost, no-reservation site close to the city.

Getting There
From St. George, head north toward the Three Peaks area, well marked and popular with the local OHV community. Dispersed camping pull-offs are scattered through the open desert terrain surrounding the namesake volcanic peaks.
What to Expect
Open desert camping with distinctive volcanic rock formations and easy access back into St. George for supplies. Expect OHV traffic and noise, especially on weekends, since this is a well-used recreation area, not a quiet backcountry escape.
Good to Know
Low elevation means this area is brutally hot for much of the year, plan trips for fall through spring. It's a practical, easy-access option when passing through St. George rather than a scenic destination in its own right.
