Muley Point might be the single best view on this list. Perched roughly 2,400 feet above the San Juan River, it looks out over Monument Valley and Valley of the Gods in the distance, camp right at the cliff's edge (carefully) and watch the light change over one of the most photographed landscapes in the Southwest.

Getting There
If you're not towing anything, the scenic route from Mexican Hat climbs the Moki Dugway before reaching the Muley Point turnoff. If you're pulling a trailer or driving anything larger, skip the Dugway and come in from the north through Blanding instead, it's a longer drive but far less stressful.
What to Expect
Clifftop camping with pull-offs right along the rim, some close enough to watch the sunset without leaving your camp chair. It's become more popular in recent years, so expect company, but there's enough room along the point to spread out. Wind can hit hard here with nothing to block it, so secure anything that isn't tied down.
Good to Know
This is Glen Canyon National Recreation Area land, managed out of the Glen Canyon NRA Headquarters (928-608-6200) if you have questions before your trip. Given the cliff-edge terrain, keep an eye on kids and pets, especially at night.
