Getting There
From the Notom-Bullfrog Road south of Capitol Reef, turn onto Beas Lewis Flat Road onto open BLM desert flats. Dispersed pull-offs are scattered across the flat, open terrain with clear views toward the Waterpocket Fold and the Henry Mountains in the distance.
What to Expect
Wide-open, quiet desert camping well away from Capitol Reef's more visited main corridor, with the Henry Mountains, the last mountain range in the lower 48 to be mapped, visible on the horizon. Expect solitude here more than anything else.
Good to Know
This is genuinely remote country with no cell service and long distances between supply points, come prepared with extra fuel, water, and a plan. The area connects conveniently to a Capitol Reef/Notom-Bullfrog Road loop trip if you're exploring the park's remote eastern side.
