Deer Creek is a small, developed-but-primitive BLM campground along the Burr Trail east of Boulder, sitting right along Deer Creek itself, a shady, low-key option in a part of the monument that otherwise offers mostly dispersed, unmarked camping.

Getting There
From Boulder, head east on the Burr Trail, one of Utah's classic scenic backcountry roads. About 6 miles in, watch for the small Deer Creek Campground on the right, along the creek itself.
What to Expect
A handful of shaded sites tucked along Deer Creek, small enough that it fills up on busy weekends despite being a lesser-known stop compared to Escalante's bigger attractions. It makes a good jumping-off point for exploring the Burr Trail further east toward Capitol Reef.
Good to Know
This is a small, self-pay fee campground, not free dispersed camping, bring cash for the fee tube. With only a handful of sites, arrive early in the day during peak season if you want a spot.
