Just north of Snowbasin Resort and a short drive from Eden and Pineview Reservoir, Maples is a former developed campground now used as a free, walk-in dispersed area, close to town but genuinely quiet since there's no vehicle access to the sites themselves.

Getting There
From Eden, drive to the lower parking lot at Snowbasin Resort. Park at the Maples lot and hike in roughly half a mile past the gate to reach the old campground sites.
What to Expect
Quiet forest camping close enough to Pineview Reservoir and Snowbasin for a short trip, but genuinely secluded once you're past the gate, pack in like you would for a backpacking trip, since there's no facilities and no vehicle access. Mountain biking trails from Snowbasin pass nearby.
Good to Know
This was a developed campground before being decommissioned, so don't expect any maintained infrastructure, no water, no toilets, no fire grates guaranteed to still be usable. It's an easy, close-in option if you want a legitimate walk-in backcountry feel without driving far from Ogden Valley.
