Farmington Canyon Road climbs out of Davis County onto a high ridge, Skyline Drive, with dispersed pull-offs strung along the way and views stretching from the Great Salt Lake to the Wasatch Front. It's one of the few dispersed options genuinely convenient to both Salt Lake City and Ogden at once.

Getting There

From Farmington, head east up Farmington Canyon Road. The road switchbacks steadily up onto the ridge (Skyline Drive), with dispersed pull-offs appearing as you climb, the higher sites, closer to Bountiful Peak, tend to be cleaner and quieter than the lower ones.

What to Expect

Some of the best sunset views on the Wasatch Front, looking west over the Great Salt Lake, alongside easy access to trails around Bountiful Peak. Lower pull-offs near the canyon mouth see some shooting and litter, so it's worth pushing further up toward the ridge for a better site.

Good to Know

This road is steep, narrow, and unforgiving of a big rig or a trailer, know your vehicle before committing. It connects toward North Ogden along the ridge, so it genuinely serves both cities, not just Salt Lake. The developed Bountiful Peak Campground nearby is a fee-based fallback if the dispersed pull-offs are full or too rough for your rig.
