Red Canyon overlooks one of the most dramatic views in the Flaming Gorge area, with the reservoir sitting 1,700 feet below sheer canyon walls, while nearby Antelope Flat offers open, easy-access dispersed camping just off the highway.

Getting There
From Dutch John, head west on Forest Road 95 toward Red Canyon. Dispersed pull-offs are scattered near the canyon rim and across the more open Antelope Flat area just off the main road.
What to Expect
Some of the best overlooks in the entire Flaming Gorge area, with sheer canyon walls dropping straight to the reservoir below. Antelope Flat offers easier, more open camping if you'd rather not be right on the rim. The Red Canyon Visitor Center nearby is worth a stop for the view alone.
Good to Know
Rim-side sites have limited guardrails or barriers, use caution with kids and pets near the edge. This is one of the more scenic and visited corners of Flaming Gorge, so expect company at the main overlooks, especially around sunset.
